So it's been a while since I have written anything and there have been a few
Developments within team walker. After getting all the kids birthdays out the way and having theo christened last weekend I think we are done for occasions like that for a couple of weeks at least. Lisa and her dads birthdays are early in march and then that is it for a few months. I think I'm going to miss all the cake!!
From a training point of view I have had the most successful month to date. Consistently doing the work and only missing one swim in three weeks is incredible and something that hopefully I can continue with throughout the season. Unfortunately though I am no longer being coached. It was a relationship that never really took off and has now finished so I am back to writing my own programme again. This is something that can be seen both positively and negatively but as long as my consistency in training continues I have got into a good routine which I will endeavour to continue. My employers have been good in letting me start work later 2 days a week now to give me a longer session in the mornings which is a move in the right direction.
I believe it is now just under 20 weeks until outlaw in July so that is definitely coming round and I have also submitted my time from challenge Barcelona 2012 to British triathlon for the age group long distance world championships. I believe we hear back in march sometime but if deemed good enough I may be able to go out and race for GBR in France on the first of June.
I am looking forward to racing now and to see what kind of summer we will get. Having done most of my winter bike work indoors I can't wait to be able to go out side and ride in just shorts and a jersey and not have to layer up and still freeze. Hopefully come the first races of the year I will be able to go out and show that the winter work is paying off with some good performances which would be nice and can't wait to break the wetsuit out agin for some open water swimming although that is still a little while away.
The aim for the next few weeks is to try and get a good programme going by myself and carry on the way I am leading into the April pool based races hopefully still making gains in all three sports.
